Pre-K/Transtional KinderS Class

Our Pre-k  develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity, our Early Foundations Transitional Kinder program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment.

Our unique early childhood curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through hands-on experiences. Each month focuses on a theme, and each day is filled with fun activities that excite and help toddlers develop in ways that give them the comfort and confidence to grow and develop both cognitively and socially.

LANGUAGE, literature & Phonics

KCD utilizes Zoo phonics for our language curriculum. The Zoo phonics multisensory language arts program is a kinesthetic multi-model approach to learning all aspects of language arts, including vocabulary development, and articulation based on phonics and phonemic awareness. We also use books, puppets, finger play and felt boards to enhance Zoo phonic lessons. We also focus on getting your children prepared for kindergarten. Most of our children who graduate form our program are above grade level in their Kinder class. We are so proud of this moment. Our focus is getting you child ahead and not to fall in the cracks of No Child Left Behind.

Art & Sensory

Children enjoy activities that allow them to experience a lesson or concept through the use of all of their senses, mostly tactile. KCD focuses on the process of the art activity not just the final product. Many times the children will not produce a finished project but thoroughly enjoyed the process of feeling and touching the media used.

Enrichment

To foster children’s curiosity and excitement we offer many enrichment activities such as science, health & safety, music & movement, and cooking projects.

Snacks & Lunches

Nutritious morning and afternoon snacks are provided. Children are required to bring a home lunch. We do offer back-up lunches if your child forgets a home lunch.
